Dishonest, yet hilarious

I was amazed to hear that David Zucker (Airplane, Naked Gun) had made some pro-GOP, anti-Democrat ads. The first was an anti-Kerry ad that played on the flip-flopper meme. That one was only semi-funny. It was too much like a regular campaign ad with a little Zucker thrown in.

Now, there is another ad that is much more disingenuous, yet much more hilarious. It has Madeleine Albright (a lookalike) playing basketball with Kim Jong Il and painting Osama bin Ladens cave for him.

I'm no fan of Democrats, but if you want to debate their positions, please debate their actual positions and not your cartoon strawman version of them. Their disineguous debate tactics are just one of the reasons I can't stand Republicans. By the way, I've lost all respect for David Zucker and will never think of Repossessed the same way ever again. (Wait, that movie sucked balls anyway.)

Election season's been seeing some truly idiotic stuff around here. In the governor's race, the incumbent, Democrat Jennifer Granholm, and her opponent, Republican Dick "Mr. Amway" DeVos, are busy name-calling. On radio, there's this anti-Proposal 5 commercial where this supremely annoying woman keeps pleading "Don't be FOOLED by FIVE" in a voice that sounds like she was just done up the rear by a satyr. It has something to do with safeguarding teacher pensions and their commercial just makes me want to vote for it all the more. My Spanish housemate complained about the ads and I told her it was becase we didn't have any "equal-time" laws in this country. It'd probably suck even if we did, but you never know.
